SC Tax Sale Atlas

South Carolina delinquent tax sale analysis. Forty-six counties in one registry. There is no statewide file — counties publish HTML tables, PDFs, spreadsheets, or newspaper ads. No invented endpoints, and no owner lists published here.

46-county coverage

The schematic is a working map from the original analysis screen, not a surveyed boundary file. Color follows registry status.

Lexington County

The original product. Tax map system numbers in dashed sections (06-1234-5678 and the map-block form 000600-06-119), a section-grid geocoder, and the crosswalk CSV schema. Treasurer and OneMap pages were checked on 16 September 2026.

The sale-cycle CSV that the original app hosted is not in this repository. It contains owner names and addresses. Pull current lists from the treasurer.

Beaufort County

A later PDF port of the Lexington workflow. Identifiers are parcel PINs (R plus 17 digits), still stored in a column named tms so the same tools can run. Not a live CSV in the original app.

County mapping links were checked on 16 September 2026. An older viewer URL from the first app returned 404. No parcel count is stated.

How the rest get done

Five source families, not 46 parsers

Statute lets each county set its own sale date and advertise for three weeks. Greenville is an HTML table, Charleston a PIN PDF, Horry an Excel sheet, others a CivicPlus page or the newspaper. Three ingest adapters plus a page watcher cover that. GIS (qPublic, OneMap) is how you locate a parcel after you have an ID — it is not the sale list.

FIPS codes follow the Census Bureau. Lexington is 063 and Kershaw is 055.

Out of state

Haywood County, North Carolina

The original app also opened a North Carolina track for Haywood (Maggie Valley area; delinquent lists described for 2022, 2023, and 2025). That work is an extra. It is not one of the 46, and it is not part of the South Carolina prices below.

What the engine actually does

A parameterized county adapter, not a scraped statewide database.

  1. Registry. counties/sc.json names all 46 counties, Census FIPS, and only the URLs that were verified.
  2. Lexington. Reads a local CSV with columns tms, owner_location_2025_REALAD, owner_location_2022_list, amount_2025_REALAD, amount_2022_list. Geocodes by TMS section grid. Summaries omit owner names.
  3. Beaufort. Parses treasurer PDF text for PINs and amounts. Drafts a treasurer inquiry from a file you already have.
  4. Everything else. The command says there is no adapter yet. That is the point.

Pricing

Four ways to work. No checkout on this site. Write and we will confirm scope from the registry, not from a guessed parcel count.
